Admissions Manager

Academic Administration and Support (AAS)

Full Time (35 hours per week), Permanent

Salary scale: £26,480 – £32,502 per annum

We are: seeking an enthusiastic individual to be part of a dynamic team responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of applications and applicant enquiries to the Conservatoire. You will work closely with other members of the recruitment and admissions team and with colleagues across the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland to ensure an efficient and fair application process for all applicants.

You are: someone who won’t be fazed by working in a fast-paced environment, working to tight deadlines, as well as demonstrating excellent organisational skills and providing a high standard of customer care.

You will: process a high volume of applications from Scottish, RUK and International applicants, and support decisions in accordance with entrance requirements and required GDPR/ cyber processes. Further to this, you will be responsible for and oversee the admissions and applicant enquiries of a range of programmes across our different disciplines: music, drama, dance, film, production, education.

You must have: Undergraduate degree in any subject or relevant experience. Have the ability to process a large amount of applications whilst maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail and to tight deadlines. Further to this, have the ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands, have a high level of customer care and manage workload effectively.

Digital Development Manager

This Royal Conservatoire of Scotland is a world-class centre of excellence in performing arts education and this is an exciting time to join our technology & digital development team. RCS is a vibrant environment and your drive as the Digital Development Manager will be instrumental in developing and delivering creative technologies to industry standard, capable of supporting the academic, professional services and digital production functions across the Conservatoire.

You will have an excellent understanding of digital pedagogy and take a central role in contributing to a digitally enhanced curriculum that enables creative digital development and technology deployment in support of all relevant Conservatoire activity. You will manage and develop the RCS technology and digital development team ensuring a unified, strategically focused approach to develop and drive forward digital learning innovations which improve the student and staff experience, with ambitions to deliver a digitally capable organisation.

You will enjoy seeing a project through from inception to implementation and be able to switch from long term strategic thinking to ‘in the moment’ problem solving as required.

This is an exciting, rewarding and varied role within a fast-paced environment. To be effective in the role you will need to be an excellent communicator who can act as the senior interface between technical and non-technical colleagues with ease and authority

We are: looking for an experienced, skilled and enthusiastic Marketing Officer to join the busy Marketing and Communications team at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

As Scotland’s national conservatoire, ranked fifth in the world for performing arts education, we offer high quality specialist training in music, drama, dance, production, film and education. We are one of Scotland’s busiest performance venues offering concerts, festivals, world premieres and new works of all kinds, across many genres. We work in partnership with national companies, including the National Theatre of Scotland, Scottish Opera and Scottish Ballet, to provide students with the very best learning experiences.

You will: play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the reputation of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on a global scale through the delivery of robust and creative marketing campaigns.

The Marketing and Communications team works with every department across RCS so you can expect to be immersed in many creative projects.

You will be responsible for a range of activity – from the creation of publications to the promotion of performances and degree programmes – and you will work with colleagues across the team and the Conservatoire to create and deliver successful marketing plans.

You are: a creative and confident marketer and communicator who enjoys using your skills to create new and exciting multi-platform campaigns.

You’ll be able to co-ordinate and project manage campaigns, and work with colleagues to draw on their expertise and ideas to create the best possible printed and digital marketing materials that reflect the brand and reputation of RCS.

You will be skilled in delivering digital communications, including writing, planning and evaluating social media and email marketing campaigns, to grow online audiences.

UKVI Compliance and International Student Experience Manager

Part time (28 hours per week), Permanent

Salary scale: £34,475 – £39,966 pro rata per annum


We are: seeking an experienced and dynamic compliance specialist to provide a dedicated and centralised resource of expertise, advice, and ownership of all matters relating to our students’ visas, immigration, compliance, and institutional sponsorship duties.

You are: someone who won’t be fazed by working in a fast-paced environment and working to tight deadlines.

You will: provide expert advice to the Conservatoire on student immigration compliance matters, ensures robust monitoring arrangements are in place, and provides an effective information, advice, and guidance service to students.

You must have: excellent knowledge of key issues relating to international student recruitment, UK visas and immigration. Further to this, you will have experience of using large, complex management information systems and managing reporting to tight deadlines. You will have proactive approaches to problem-solving, strong analytical skills, and the ability to identify and improve processes as part of an enhancement-led service culture.
